Use Technology to Automate
As the series 9 Habits For Home Business Success continues, today’s post is Use Technology to Automate.
“Use new technology to automate. I’m a firm believer in finding technological answers to some of my business challenges. The more I can automate, the more clients I can serve. This not only leads to excellent growth but allows me to scale my services to a larger population of prospects and customers.” – Nicole Gardner
You are a solopreneur. You work at home. And you are the head cook as well as the chief bottle washer. There is not enough time to do everything. There has got to be a solution that does not involve hiring staff!
As Nicole said, “Use new technology to automate. I’m a firm believer in finding technological answers to some of my business challenges.”
This is a common challenge for all of us and yet, the solution is difficult to find.
Some degree of automation is necessary. You can use companies like Aweber, Get Response, or OntraPort help with your email lists. There are some excellent CRM systems available. These services will help save some valuable time while easing your concern that clients of potential customers are falling through the cracks in your current way of handling your workflow.
Striking A Balance
But, even then you must take additional time to learn how to use the new system and more time to master it.
The long term answer may lie in using as much automation as you can and outsourcing some tasks. This seems a better balance.
I am beginning to look at outsourcing some of my work. Maybe that will help.
My concern with automated systems is coming off as “canned.” I want a real touch experience for people. So there is always going to be the need to discover the right balance for your business.
